My work

Original work to take home: the picture book Tiê, art prints, greeting cards and bookmarks. Everything is made by hand on watercolour paper: the drawing in ink, the colour in watercolour. The original is then scanned, and the file cleaned up and prepared for printing. The prints are made in Lyon on 300 gsm textured paper that brings back the grain of the original; Tiê is printed in Aix-en-Provence on recycled paper.

About

Débora Borba

French-Brazilian illustrator, trained in Fine Arts at UNICAMP. I create sensitive, colourful and gentle images for books, walls and everyday objects.

Every commission is different, and that is what I love about it. My guiding thread I borrow from José Datrino, the Profeta Gentileza, who wrote it on the pillars of a viaduct in Rio: “kindness begets kindness”. It shapes my work as much as the way I collaborate.
